Overview:
Blood bank centrifuge It’s a great helper for blood separation and is typically equipped with an automatic cap-removal function. Not only does this boost efficiency, but it also reduces labor costs.
Typically, a centrifuge separates red blood cells from white blood cells by utilizing centrifugal force. The principle behind this is that red blood cells are denser and thus tend to sink to the bottom, while platelets, being lighter, float to the top. As for plasma? It settles in the middle. The separated components are then subjected to further compression and classification.
Common performance characteristics of blood bank centrifuges are:
1. Microcomputer control, touch panel, digital and intuitive display, automatic conversion function for speed and centrifugal force calculation, simple operation.
2. Brushless DC motor, maintenance-free, with overheat protection feature.
3. Electronic door lock, steel body, stainless steel centrifugal chamber—corrosion-resistant and easy to clean.
4. Equipped with protection functions such as overspeed, overtemperature, door cover, and imbalance protection to ensure safety.
5. Proprietary airflow-guiding design ensures temperature rise does not exceed 5 degrees, effectively protecting the samples.
Centrifuges are expensive and can easily cause accidents if operated improperly. Therefore, when using them, you should pay close attention to the following aspects:
1. To ensure safety and centrifugal performance, the instrument must be placed on a sturdy, vibration-resistant, level surface, and it is essential to make sure that all four feet bear an even load.
2. Set the speed strictly according to the rotor’s allowable rotational speed; absolutely prohibit operation exceeding the rotor’s design-specified speed.
3. Do not use rotors or centrifuge tubes that have scratches or cracks.
4. The grounding connection of indoor outlets must be reliable. The grounding wire must be an independent ground wire and must not be connected to indoor pipes. When the indoor humidity exceeds 80%, do not touch the enclosure with your hands.
5. During operation, the centrifuge must not be moved, and it is strictly prohibited to open the door cover.
In addition to proper operation, blood bank centrifuges require regular maintenance. After completing a centrifugation run, if the machine is not to be used again that day, use a clean, soft cloth to thoroughly wipe away any dirt from the centrifuge chamber, rotor, and centrifuge tubes. Periodically inspect the rotor and centrifuge tubes for cracks. When the instrument is to be left unused for more than one month, remove the rotor from the centrifuge chamber, apply a thin layer of grease to the rotor’s central hole and to the centrifuge’s spindle, and store the rotor in a dry location. Only by combining correct operating procedures with diligent maintenance can the centrifuge operate more reliably and have a longer service life.
