Overview:

It’s difficult to identify the model of centrifuges from different brands, because each manufacturer uses a different naming convention for its models; however, the underlying principles behind these naming conventions are generally similar.

It’s difficult to identify the model of centrifuges from different brands, because each manufacturer uses a different naming convention for its models; however, the underlying principles behind these naming conventions are generally similar.

For example, in the benchtop low-speed centrifuge TDZ5-WS, the first letter T stands for “benchtop”; the second letter D indicates “low speed”; the third letter Z refers to the unique automatic balancing feature specific to Shanghai Luxiangyi centrifuges; the fourth letter 5 signifies that the machine’s maximum rotational speed is 5,000 r/min; and the suffix -WS denotes that this machine is equipped with a brushless DC motor.

Desktop High-Speed Refrigerated Centrifuge TGL-20MS: Naming Convention for This Model

T stands for desktop, G stands for high speed, and L stands for freezing. -20 indicates a maximum rotational speed of 20,000 rpm. MS means that this machine is equipped with a high-torque variable-frequency motor and features an LCD screen for display.

Ultra-large-capacity refrigerated centrifuge DL-8M – naming rules for this model

D stands for low speed and large capacity; L stands for refrigeration; -8 indicates a maximum rotor speed of 8,000 rpm. M refers to the use of a high-torque variable-frequency motor, and the display screen is digital. Sometimes, even for the same model, the maximum capacity may differ. To distinguish between these machines, we adopt the following naming convention, for example: DDL-8M—low-speed refrigerated centrifuge.
