Lu Xiangyi exports 25 TDZ4-WS units to the Philippines.
Detailed introduction
The healthcare system in the Philippines is unevenly developed. Most hospitals are private, and the capital region of Manila is relatively more advanced, with notable medical institutions such as Makati Medical Center and Chinese General Hospital. In contrast, healthcare facilities in the provinces are considerably less developed. Typically, critically ill patients must be transported to hospitals in Manila for treatment, and the associated costs are borne by the patients themselves.
In recent years, Philippine authorities have launched a five-year plan to attract foreigners to seek medical treatment in the country. This medical tourism promotion initiative aims to generate two billion U.S. dollars annually from foreign patients visiting the Philippines.
The 25 TDZ4-WS low-speed desktop centrifuges purchased by the Philippines will be used in the medical sector. It is hoped that, through advanced medical devices and technologies, these centrifuges will serve the 700,000 foreign “medical tourists” who visit the Philippines each year.
Relevant Philippine officials acknowledged that, compared to other Asian countries such as China, Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia, the Philippines has “fallen far behind” in attracting foreign “medical tourists.”
However, both he and the officials emphasized that the Philippines is well-positioned to catch up, thanks to its warm and hospitable people, medical personnel who can speak English, high-quality medical professionals, imported medical equipment, and competitive pricing—all of which make it an attractive destination for foreign patients.
Philippine Health Secretary Duque said that medical tourism brought in over one billion dollars in revenue last year for Thailand, India, and Malaysia. The government plans to combine medical tourism with spa services to attract foreign retirees to live in the Philippines, as healthcare costs in the Philippines are relatively low.
Shanghai Luxiangyi Centrifuge Instrument Co., Ltd. is willing to export China’s advanced medical centrifuges to private hospitals across the Philippines, bringing significant benefits to the development of the local healthcare sector. We also look forward to establishing extensive technical partnerships with local distributors and enterprises, working together to promote the advancement of centrifuges and laboratory instruments.
