Overview:

The diamond micron powder centrifuge developed by Shanghai Luxiangyi is an ideal instrument for purifying ultrafine diamond micron powder, ultimately yielding ultrafine diamond micron powder with a purity of 99.95% or higher.

Diamond micron powder refers to diamond particles with a particle size smaller than 36/54 micrometers. It includes single-crystal diamond micron powder and polycrystalline diamond micron powder. Single-crystal diamond micron powder is produced through a special process that involves crushing and shaping synthetic single-crystal diamond grains.

Polycrystalline diamond micron powder is produced from graphite using a unique directional blasting method. The shock wave generated by the high-explosive detonation accelerates metal fragments, which then impact graphite sheets, causing the graphite to transform into polycrystalline diamond. Its structure closely resembles that of natural diamond, with bonds formed through unsaturated links, giving it excellent toughness.

Aiming to address the current domestic challenge—where conventional processes can only purify ultrafine diamond micron powder to below 97% purity—and given the significant gap between China’s existing diamond micron powder products and international technical standards, Shanghai Luxiangyi Centrifuge Instrument Co., Ltd. has begun developing a centrifuge specifically designed for ultrafine diamond micron powder. Currently, both particle size and particle size distribution width, two key grading parameters for diamond micron powder, have already met internationally advanced standards.

Extensive experimental verification has shown that during the purification process, grading ultrafine diamond micropowders and subjecting the reagent-treated micropowders to centrifugal washing, followed by the addition of a surfactant in a specific proportion, and then observing the resulting product under a microscope—this approach yields an ideal instrument for purifying ultrafine diamond micropowders: the Shanghai Luxiangyi-developed diamond micropowder centrifuge. The final product is ultrafine diamond micropowder with a purity exceeding 99.95%.

High-purity ultrafine diamond micron powder is widely used in fields and sectors such as machinery, electronics, aerospace, optical instruments, glass, ceramics, petroleum, geology, and military industry. It is an ideal material for grinding and polishing high-hardness materials including cemented carbides, ceramics, gemstones, and optical glasses. In particular, diamond micron powder with a narrow particle size distribution below 1 μm is in great demand for ultra-high-precision surface finishing applications in areas such as magnetic heads, optical glasses, semiconductor substrates, and aircraft engines, and holds exceptionally promising prospects. As can be seen, with the continuous development of modern high-tech industries, ever higher demands will be placed on the purity and graded particle sizes of diamond micron powder.
