Overview:
Biological immunotherapy represents the fourth modality of cancer treatment, following surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy. It is the most effective approach to cancer treatment in the 21st century. Biological immunotherapy can completely eliminate tumors, leaving no chance for tumor metastasis or recurrence.
The principle of biological immunotherapy is that DC cells and CIK cells precisely mobilize the immune defense capabilities of cancer patients. Through DC cells’ ability to search and identify tumor antigens, and CIK cells’ capacity to kill and eliminate tumor cells, the goal is to eradicate tumor cells.
The GMP laboratory at the Tumor Biotherapy and Diagnostic Center is equipped with advanced therapeutic instruments and facilities for tumor bioimmunotherapy, including a blood cell centrifuge, a high-speed refrigerated centrifuge, a biosafety cabinet, a CO2 incubator, a large-capacity low-temperature centrifuge, an autoclave, an inverted fluorescence microscope, an ultra-low-temperature freezer at -80°C, a flow cytometer, and an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) reader.
Due to its advantages—such as safety, high efficacy, and the absence of toxic side effects—biological immunotherapy is considered the most active and promising approach in the current comprehensive treatment paradigm for tumors.
