Today is the first workday after the holiday, and right from the start, the company is already bustling with activity. As the new year begins, if we want to take our careers to the next level, achieve robust growth, and reap both accomplishments and happiness, we’ll need to genuinely transform ourselves and step up our efforts even more in the new year.
We need to make a long-term plan for ourselves:
Dreaming is something that requires long-term cultivation and consistent dedication of time. However, we can break down our big goals into smaller, more manageable ones. Divide your ultimate goal into several distinct aspects, list them out one by one, and then carefully consider the specific details of how to put each aspect into practice. Identify those tasks that are less likely to be disrupted by external factors and that you can reasonably expect to complete on schedule; allocate specific time periods for these tasks. By consistently following this approach, we’ll steadily move closer and closer to achieving our goals.
Learn time management.
Learning to allocate time effectively is the key to maximizing your time utilization. If your schedule is too rigidly set with precise time slots, and if you’re constantly faced with various unexpected events that hinder your progress, you may find it impossible to stick to your plan within the allotted timeframe. This can leave you feeling frustrated and convinced that your plan has lost its effectiveness. In reality, all you need to do is build flexibility into your schedule—dividing your time into mandatory slots and flexible slots—and adjust back and forth between these two types of time blocks. By doing so, you’ll be able to stay on track and successfully complete your plan.
Consciously enhancing executive function.
In our work, there are always moments when we tend to slack off. If we keep a record of the time and frequency of these instances of laziness, after some time, we’ll realize that the time wasted here will become the biggest obstacle on your path to self-improvement. So what should we do? Why not try rewarding ourselves? Every time we manage to overcome our tendency to be lazy, let’s reward ourselves—perhaps by treating ourselves to a delicious meal or something special.
The new year brings a fresh start. Only by seriously reflecting on the past can you truly let go of it and focus on tomorrow, which is full of opportunities and challenges.
2017 has officially come to an end, and 2018 has officially begun. May time never let down those who strive hard, and may youth never betray those who cherish it. Keep moving forward—this new journey, these new adventures, will bring you fresh surprises. Come on, 2018! Let’s set sail in the new year, work even harder, and achieve our plans and goals.
The smart person: When the boss offers a salary of 3,000 yuan, they’ll do only work worth exactly 3,000 yuan—no more, no less. They’d rather take a loss and suffer themselves, because after five years, their salary would still be 3,000 yuan, ensuring they never end up at a disadvantage. The wise person: When the boss offers a salary of 3,000 yuan, they’re willing to put in the effort required for 9,000 yuan’s worth of work—without complaining about being tired or suffering. After all, what they learn is far more valuable than what they earn, and they feel truly happy doing it. Five years later, the wise person is earning 20,000 yuan and has already moved on to managerial and executive positions, while the smart person is still stuck at the same 3,000-yuan salary—and remains in the same old job!
Win by being generous; lose by being petty! Please believe this: As long as you keep striving, the years will surely grant you everything you desire. Shanghai Luxiangyi Centrifuge Instrument Co., Ltd. wishes you a new year filled with a brand-new you!
