Overview:

Building on last year’s strong growth momentum, Shanghai Luxiangyi has once again received good news from the Ministry of Foreign Trade—securing an order for 600 centrifuges! To express gratitude for the recognition from both domestic and international customers, Shanghai Luxiangyi has already stepped up production efforts on this batch of centrifuge orders. More than ten machining centers and CNC lathes have been simultaneously put into operation, producing rotor components made from titanium alloys, aerospace-grade aluminum alloys, and stainless steel—all of which are now being manufactured in the machining workshop. These rotors will then move on to the inspection workshop and dynamic balancing room, ensuring a steady supply of high-quality, reliable components for the centrifuge production line.

In recent years, Centrifuge The overall market has consistently maintained a steady yet upward trajectory. Against this backdrop, in 2020, many centrifuge companies saw a significant year-on-year increase in sales, and an increasing number of new products also began entering the market. Notably, among these companies, Shanghai Luxiangyi Centrifuge Instrument Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Shanghai Luxiangyi”) stood out particularly brightly. It is reported that in 2020, while continuously meeting domestic market demand and sustaining its own rapid development, Shanghai Luxiangyi also made multiple urgent exports of large quantities of centrifuge equipment to overseas countries such as Belarus and Italy, helping to fill gaps in local basic medical equipment supplies and receiving widespread acclaim.

As of now, we’ve entered 2021. Building on last year’s strong growth momentum, Shanghai Luxiangyi has once again received excellent news from the Ministry of Foreign Trade—securing an order for 600 centrifuges! To express our gratitude for the recognition from both domestic and international customers, Shanghai Luxiangyi has already stepped up production efforts to expedite the fulfillment of this order. More than ten machining centers and CNC lathes have simultaneously begun operations, producing rotor components made from titanium alloys, aerospace-grade aluminum alloys, and stainless steel—all of which are currently being manufactured in the machining workshop. These rotors will then move on to the inspection workshop and dynamic balancing room, ensuring a steady and reliable supply of high-quality parts for the centrifuge production line.

  Shanghai Luxiangyi Centrifuge Rotor

As is well known, the rotor is the primary working component of a centrifuge. The specifications, variety, and material of the rotor are all critical factors that influence the quality and performance of the centrifuge. According to reports, currently, centrifuge rotors are mainly manufactured from materials such as stainless steel, ordinary steel, aluminum alloy, and titanium alloy. However, it is important to note that since the mechanical stress acting on the rotor is proportional to the square of the rotational speed, the higher the rotational speed, the greater the stress experienced by the rotor. Moreover, this stress is centrifugal stress—a body force that is directly proportional to the material’s density. Therefore, centrifuge rotors typically employ materials with high specific strength (strength-to-density ratio)—and for convenience in dimensional calculations, density is still used here—such as aluminum alloys and titanium alloys.

However, it is understood that although both aluminum alloys and titanium alloys have high specific strengths, there are still differences between the two. Currently, rotors for high-speed centrifuges operating at 5,000–50,000 r/min and some ultra-high-speed centrifuges are predominantly made of aluminum alloy, whereas rotors exceeding 50,000 r/min are mainly made of titanium alloy. Among these, titanium alloy—thanks to its characteristics of high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and superior heat resistance—has been increasingly widely adopted across various fields.

Currently, rotors for high-speed and ultra-high-speed applications are also commonly manufactured from aluminum alloys and titanium alloys. As for another type of aerospace aluminum alloy rotor, the alloy used is an ultra-high-strength wrought aluminum alloy. Thanks to its excellent mechanical properties and machinability, this alloy exhibits good ductility after solid-solution treatment and delivers outstanding strengthening effects through heat treatment. Typically, it maintains high strength and toughness at temperatures below 150°C (and even higher), making it an ideal structural material that has long been widely adopted in the aerospace industry. Moreover, due to the lightweight nature of aerospace aluminum alloys and their significant weight-reduction benefits, they are now also being utilized by Shanghai Luxiangyi to manufacture centrifuge rotors, thereby enhancing centrifugal performance.

It’s worth noting that, in addition to aluminum alloy and titanium alloy rotors, Shanghai Luxiangyi’s stainless steel centrifuge rotors are also products of exceptionally high quality in the industry. Besides being affordably priced, they have an extremely wide range of applications and can be used in the following industries:

  1. Food and Beverage Category: Dairy products, latex, chocolate, syrups, cheese, malt beverages, beer, soft drinks, etc.

  2. Fruit concentrates: puddings, jams, jellies, ketchup, and more

  3. Paste products: fats and oils, etc.

  4. Cosmetics: facial creams, detergents, hair styling gels, fragrance oils, and more

  5. Pharmaceutical products: extracts, emulsions, pill pastes, etc.

  6. Chemical industry: dyes, fats, solvents, resins, and polymers, etc.

For years, Shanghai Luxiangyi has been constantly pushing boundaries and relentlessly pursuing excellence, striving to provide customers with even better equipment. The high-precision and high-resolution centrifuge rotors represent a solid foundation upon which Shanghai Luxiangyi has built its expertise in the research and development and manufacturing of centrifuges. Looking ahead, Shanghai Luxiangyi stated that it will continue to intensify its efforts in technological innovation. At the same time, it will also take full account of users’ experimental environments and laboratory conditions, starting from the materials and processes used in centrifuge production. This way, Shanghai Luxiangyi’s centrifuge products will be better suited to a wider range of production scenarios, meeting users’ diverse production and experimental needs, thereby contributing to the steady advancement of industrial production and technological R&D—and reciprocating the trust and support of our valued customers.
