Overview:

Traditional medical centrifuges are difficult to move and transport due to their bulky size and excessive weight. Moreover, they generate significant noise during operation (requiring double-tube balancing; even slight imbalances can cause eccentric vibrations and produce noise). In light of this situation, Shanghai Luxiangyi has designed and manufactured a medical centrifuge that can operate on both AC and DC power and is easy to carry.

Traditional Medical centrifuge Due to their large size and excessive weight, these devices are difficult to move and transport. Moreover, they generate significant noise during operation (requiring dual-tube balancing; even slight imbalances can lead to shaft misalignment and noise). In light of this situation, Shanghai Luxiangyi has designed and manufactured a medical centrifuge that can operate on both AC and DC power and is easy to carry.

In medical centrifuges, the frequency converter is crucial; the size of the frequency converter largely determines the centrifuge's overall volume.

  1. It offers precise control over speed and torque and is compatible with standard squirrel-cage induction motors currently in use. The inverter features three control modes: scalar V/F control, sensorless vector control, and torque control. This inverter is not only suitable for the simplest motor operations but can also be applied in complex working environments. Thanks to its robust overload capacity design, it can handle both normal and heavy-load applications simultaneously.

  2. In terms of centrifuge operation, this model features a large starting torque at low speeds, smooth startup, and an adjustable separation factor. It completely overcomes the drawbacks of conventional centrifuges, such as high noise levels, frequent breakdowns, short service life, and unstable rotational speed. The speed can be adjusted according to different process requirements, and multi-speed operation can be conveniently selected based on the characteristics of the material being processed. Moreover, variable-frequency drive control is employed to enable soft motor start-up, thereby reducing the impact on the power grid. The frequency converter is equipped with comprehensive protection functions, including overcurrent, overload, and overvoltage protection. When the load or motor experiences an abnormality, the frequency converter will automatically shut down and quickly block the output, providing timely protection for the motor.

Medical centrifuge accessories are also key components requiring careful maintenance. For instance, they should be kept at a certain distance from other electrical equipment whenever possible, properly grounded, and subjected to regular inspections. Rotors must not be exposed to high-intensity UV radiation or prolonged heating. When cleaning, use a neutral detergent. If necessary, the rotor can be replaced. After reinstallation, ensure that the rotor head screws are securely tightened. If any centrifuge tubes show signs of color changes, deformation, leakage, or other abnormalities, immediately discontinue their use. When sterilizing centrifuge tubes using high-temperature and high-pressure methods, do not screw on the tube caps to prevent tube deformation. Refer to the user manual for specific temperature resistance ratings for each type of centrifuge tube.

The operational procedure for medical centrifuges requires careful attention. The first step is to identify the substance to be separated. Before starting a centrifugation experiment, you must determine whether you need to retain the supernatant or the precipitate—this will help ensure that your experiment is conducted more precisely.

Step 2: Select the rotor and centrifuge tubes appropriately. When choosing a centrifuge rotor and its corresponding centrifuge tubes, it’s best to first set up or select parameters that are similar to those found in relevant literature. For routine separation of suspensions, it’s advisable to use centrifuge tubes with conical bottoms, as this design allows the precipitated material to adhere more effectively to the tube walls, resulting in better accumulation of the precipitate.

Step 3: Prepare the separation environment. This step is crucial for samples that require low-temperature centrifugation. First, be sure to set the centrifugation temperature (especially for refrigerated centrifuges) to precool the centrifuge chamber and bring it down to the working temperature required for your experiment, thus preparing it for the separation process.

Step 4: Set the centrifugation parameters. It is at this step that you need to select the appropriate speed or centrifugal force. Be sure to choose the right conditions—conditions that are too low won't achieve the desired effect, while conditions that are too high may result in loss of material. Therefore, it’s crucial to consult reliable references and draw on relevant experience. Also, pay close attention to balancing the sample for centrifugation.

Step 5: Safety Precautions. Make sure to securely close the centrifuge lid—this step is crucial and must be done carefully, as an improperly closed lid can easily lead to hazards.

Step 6: Pay attention to details. Be mindful of whether to retain the supernatant or preserve the precipitate at the end. Remember to quickly pipette off the supernatant or discard it—only then can you prevent partial suspension from developing over time, ensuring reliable experimental results.

Finally, a friendly reminder: The sterilization and disinfection methods for the rotor chamber and accessories of medical centrifuges are as follows—any conventional disinfectant can be used. Since medical centrifuges and their accessories are made from various materials, it is essential to take into account the compatibility of the disinfectants with these materials.
